A post to Facebook leads to over six pounds of pot

as declared in ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says last week was a big week for marijuana seizers with around 20 pounds confiscated. The use of social media to sell drugs is on the rise and the sheriff is worried about kids who use Facebook. On Wednesday, police say David Leblanc, of Troy, was found with five pounds of marijuana in his car. On Friday, Kerry Bendel met up with officers and was found to be in possession of a pound of pot. They say a search of his home netted another six pounds.

THE Leader of Allerdale council is making a complaint to the police after his Facebook account was hacked. Mr Smith has now deleted his social media account after taking advice from Allerdale council's IT department. The post was shared on his account in the same week he warned of the perils of social media in his other role as a Cockermouth town councillor. Speaking at a recent meeting of the Cockermouth Town Council, Mr Smith had described social media as "dynamite". Members voted against plans to raise their social media profile, describing it as a "minefield" best avoided.

The absolute last thing any sports entity wants is a conflict of interest (or even the appearance of one) from game officials. That had basketball referee Anthony Jordan hearing from the SEC after a 2014 Facebook post surfaced of him holding an LSU shirt. Still, SEC associate commissioner Herb Vincent reprimanded Jordan for the social media post. He took a picture and posted that picture to be seen by friends via his social media account. He said it was his intent to make a light-hearted social media post about having seen the t-shirt in another country and not to express affinity for a particular school.
