Delhi University teacher booked for Facebook post versus Hindu goddess

Offended with the Facebook post with Kedar Kumar Mandal, members of National Democratic Teachers forehead (NDTF) submitted their complaint versus Mr. Mandal at Lodhi Road police station on September 23 after that an FIR was registered late in the night. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chinmoy Biswal said, "The complaint was examined and Mr Mandal was booked under department 153A (promoting enmity among different groups on grounds of religion, etc.) and 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class with insulting religious beliefs). In their complaint, the NDTF alleged that Mr. Mandal shared the post in 21 different groups.

Kedar Kumar Mandal, an helper professor at Dayal Singh College put up the Facebook post at 7.43 pm on September 22, PTI reported. The National Democratic Teachers Front, a teachers' body, filed a complaint versus him at the Lodhi Road police station on September 23. In their complaint, the teachers accused him of "making a mischievous attempt to hurt people's feelings", The Times of India reported. "We are looking if sections of the IT Act want to be added."Mandal hasn't yet replied to the allegations and the complaint.
