Mark Zuckerberg dodges a $128 million blow to Facebook holdings

Facebook share prices fell to new lows in October, with the stock closing at its third-lowest price of the year on Tuesday at $146.22 per share ahead of its earnings release, although share prices rebounded to trade above $155 at their peak on Wednesday. From its peak day of July 25 through the end of August, Zuckerberg sold 5.2 million shares of Facebook common stock for a total of almost $935 million. Had he sold the shares at Wednesday's price of $155 he would have generated $807.6 million, or $127.6 million less than his actual proceeds. Zuckerberg has previously made clear his intention to sell up to 75 million shares so he can fund his philanthropic efforts through the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.

From May through late October, O'Rourke, spent more than $6.3 million on Facebook ads that have been seen more than 19.8 million times. He's also targeted ads to those whom Facebook categorizes as moderates and even Texans whom Facebook thinks are interested in his opponent. An O'Rourke campaign spokesperson did not respond to request for comment. And a PAC tied to MoveOn.org has run ads on Facebook featuring videos of Texans explaining why they're voting for O'Rourke.

Facebook loses a million European users in three months

As it stated in Facebook has lost a million daily and monthly active users in the last three months, the company's latest financial results have revealed. According to the company's latest figures, the number of Europeans logging onto the site every day dropped from 279 to 278 million, while monthly European users fell from 376 to 375m. However, total global user numbers continue to slowly rise, with more than 2.2bn people using the platform every month.
