Once Facebook overcomes the hurdles of increasing awareness of Watch and increasing the reasons people should use Watch, it seems to have good success. Three out of five Watch users stream something at least once per week, according to TDG's survey.

MercadoLibre is spending lots of money right now to build out its fulfillment network. It also benefits from the network effect, as more people visiting the platform to buy stuff means more merchants listing their wares on MercadoLibre. And, as mentioned above, MercadoLibre is spending hand over fist to build out its fulfillment capabilities and offer subsidized shipping to customers. They both deserve your attention, but right now, Facebook appears to be the better buy.

Facebook Won't Move Forward With Selling Pay TV Subscriptions -- The Motley Fool

according to Speculation emerged last week that Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) could be building a pay-TV platform that could be part of Watch, the social networking giant's nascent video platform. It now sounds like Facebook has decided not to move forward with the plan. The level of sustainable engagement that Facebook can generate over time will be much more telling. Even YouTube is reverting back to monetizing original content with ads next year, while still selling premium subscriptions with other perks. Third-party premium channels are universally available across just about all major platforms, so trying to sell subscriptions wouldn't really differentiate Facebook Watch either.
